From Delivery Driver to Super Tech: Meet Barb Golden.

Joe and I have always talked about having photos of all of the staff, with their names below the picture, hanging somewhere in the pharmacy. But, we never got around to doing it. When Jay Gehres came to take photos of Joe for the van, I asked Joe to have him take some nice photos of the staff, as well. Many of you know most of the people who work in Plain City Druggist, but for some of you, it would be good to introduce you to our fabulous technicians, pharmacists, students, delivery drivers, and cashiers. We could not do what we do if not for them.

Pharmacy law now requires that everyone wear a name badge, so that has helped a lot of people put names with faces. But I also thought it would be nice if every month I formally introduced you to one of the fabulous staff.

So first up is Barb Golden, who has worked in the drugstore since 2003!

Barb actually started out as our delivery driver at the old store on Main Street. She quickly became an essential part of our crew, learning the duties of cashier, and pitching in wherever we needed her. Over the past few years, Barb also began working behind the counter as a technician and we are very proud to say that Barb passed the pharmacy technician exam in March and is now a certified pharmacy technician! That is a huge honor and Barb worked really hard for this accomplishment.

Barb always helps us with community activities, as well. She and her granddaughters bag a large portion of the candy for the parades and then also ride along to toss out the goodies on the parade route. Barb also shows up to help with Christmas Under the Clock, our anniversary parties, and anything else that goes on around Plain City that we participate in. Not only does Barb help, she even coerces her husband, Steve, into getting involved, too.

Barb is originally from Oklahoma. We have to say that we are very glad she met an Ohio boy and moved to Plain City or we would not have her here at Plain City Druggist!
