Meet Our New Pharmacy Students, Anna Gehres and Evelyne Ntam.

Our fourth year pharmacy student, Matt Byrdy, left us at the end of July. He was only here for a monthlong rotation. But, don’t fear. Matt will be back with us the whole month of October. There are some older ladies in town who are counting the days (we’ve heard Matt has a huge fan in Mary Butler).

In the meantime, we have two other wonderful students with us from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy.

The first is Anna Gehres, who is also a fourth year pharmacy student carrying out a month of her experiential rotations with us. Anna will be with us the whole month of August working on projects such as the backpack program and others. Anna will graduate next year and will become a pharmacist soon after, when she takes the state pharmacy exam. Anna is no stranger to Plain City Druggist, however. She has been in the pharmacy as a student previously, completing other school projects and learning about life in an independent drugstore.

Our second student is Evelyne Ntam, who is a second year pharmacy student at OSU. Evelyne is also the President of OSU’s student chapter of NCPA (National Community Pharmacists Association), a position she took over from Kelly Jackson, our longtime technician and student. Kelly, as most of you know, began working at Plain City Druggist as a clerk, technician, and delivery driver (Kelly can do it all!) long before she went to pharmacy school. Kelly is now in her fourth year and has also started rotations similar to what Anna is doing with us–therefore, you’ll only see her in the pharmacy on Saturdays. Kelly and Evelyne’s involvement with NCPA shows that they are dedicated to community pharmacies, believing in what we do at Plain City Druggist.

In fact, Kelly is the one who suggested Evelyne to us, since she knew we would be needing another part-time pharmacy student to work during breaks and holidays.

Please say hello to Anna and Evelyne when you stop in and help us make them feel welcome.

  • Mavis Ntam:

Evelyne is one of the hardest working people I know. She is intelligent, friendly. And fun. I love to dote on her, because she makes me so proud! Overall, she’s been enjoying caring for your customers. 🙂

  • Robin Craft:

Anna already is doing a wonderful job. She is going to be a super pharmacist in a few months! 🙂

  • My sister, Anna, will do great job.
