Santa Claws (Santa Chuck Gaul) Will Be at PetSmart on Sunday, December 11 from 11 am to 4 pm.

We hope you’ll come out and support Black and Orange Cat Foundation by visiting our very own “Santa Claws” on Sunday, December 11 at the PetSmart located at 6010 Sawmill Road in Dublin (next to the Target store). Once again, our favorite Santa, Chuck Gaul, will be donning his red suit and fluffing his beard to have his picture taken with all the happy pets in the central Ohio area. You can get in the photo, too, if you’d like!

B and O volunteers will be taking photos between 11 am and 4 pm. The pictures are $9.95 with a PetSmart PetPerks card. You will receive one 4×6 digital photo in a holiday collector frame. Five dollars from every package purchased will go directly to Black and Orange!

If you’ve adopted a cat or kitten from Black and Orange, we’d love to have you bring them out for the photos so we could see them again. One of our very favorite things is seeing all of our former kitties with their new families.

We want to thank Chuck Gaul for doing such an awesome job as our Santa. We feel very blessed to have our Santa Chuck and Mrs. Claus (Carol) in our lives.

Plain City Lions Club Supports our Local Fire and Police Departments with $500 Checks.

The Plain City Lions Club recently showed their support for our local fire and police departments by giving each of them a check for $500.

Lions Club President Shannon Foust presented $500 checks to the Pleasant Valley Fire Department, the Plain City Police Department, and the Jerome Township Fire Department.

Representing the Pleasant Valley Fire Department were (from left to right), Brody Dille, Terry Sanders, Mike Johnson, Greg Parks, and Ryan Mclain.

Plain City Police Chief Hill accepted the check from the Lions Club on behalf of the Plain City Police Department.

Chief Scott Skeldon, Lt. Brian Bemiller, and fire fighters Derek Hess and Jamie Adams accepted the $500 for the Jerome Township Fire Department.

We are very thankful to have these heros working in our community to keep us safe!

The Plain City Lions Club is always seeking new members. Please contact President Shannon Foust if you are interested and would like more information about what the Club does. The Club meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at 7 pm in the basement of the Plain City Presbyterian Church. A home cooked meal is provided with each meeting thanks to the generosity of Judy Bodenbender and Judy Weeks. The Club also tries to have an interesting speaker or program on the schedule for each meeting.

If you’d like to be Joe’s guest at the next Lions Club meeting to find out what the Club is about, stop in the pharmacy and ask him if you can tag along. He’d be happy to take you.

Come Shop During Christmas Under the Clock and Get Tons of Great Discounts!

Lamphao Johnson, our shopper extraordinaire for the out front section of the pharmacy, has purchased a lot of really neat stuff for holiday gift giving. This Saturday, December 3, during Christmas Under the Clock, you can get 25% off everything (except, of course, prescription medications and items being sold for local charities). We hope you’ll stop in and load up to ease the burden of your gift list.

One of the items Lamphao bought that made everyone laugh was a selection of door mats. Barb felt the one about photos of the grandkids fit her.

The mats are $15.98 each, but we think that is a bargain, because they say things you’d never dare say out loud (just let the door mat speak for you!).

While we have a small selection of gifts, don’t forget that Main Street Treasures has a ton of stuff, including Jonathan Alder clothing. Stop in there to stock up, too.

Of course, we’ll be featuring bottled pop out of our Coke cooler again this year. We’ll also have cookie goodies, coffee, and a prize raffle drawing to enter. In the raffle, ten lucky people will win $50 in cash, $25 gift cards to the drugstore and Lovejoy’s Market, $20 gift cards to Rex’s Marathon, Mike’s Pit Stop, Plain City Lanes and Pizza, Main Street Treasures, Yoder’s True Value Hardware, The Cheese House, and Yutzy’s Farm Market.

The ten winners will be picked at 7:30 pm and the winners will choose their prize from unmarked envelopes (who knows what you might get!). The first winner to show up gets first choice of envelopes. The $50 in cash will come in the form of $2 bills. As part of our shop local program, we’re asking the winner to spend those $2 bills around Plain City. We’ll be checking with local merchants in the coming weeks to see if they’ve noticed an influx of the bills in their cash registers.

Christmas Under the Clock will begin with the tree lighting down town at 5:00 pm. Our open house will get started at 5:30 pm. Don’t forget to stop out and enter the drawing for the $500 VISA gift card. The more open houses you visit, the greater your chances of winning the VISA card.

And if Lamphao has a “Go Away!” mat at the front door of the pharmacy–she is only kidding. We want you to come in and visit with us!
