We have a new student pharmacist with us for the entire month of September. His name is Kevin Lanning and he is from The Ohio State University’s College of Pharmacy. Kevin will graduate from Ohio State in May 2016. We hope you will stop in and show Kevin just how friendly everyone in Plain City is!

Here is what Kevin has to say about himself:

Hello! My name is Kevin Lanning and I’m excited to be spending the month of September at Plain City Druggist as the student pharmacist. I am currently in my final year of pharmacy school at Ohio State.

I grew up in Grove City, Ohio and went to high school at Central Crossing. Upon graduation, I attended college in South Carolina to play baseball at a junior college. After receiving my associate’s degree, I moved back to Ohio and completed my bachelor’s degree at Ohio State in pharmaceutical sciences and also received a minor in chemistry. You could say I like Ohio State since I stayed another four years for pharmacy school.

Fun fact about me is that I was actually born at The Ohio State University Hospital.

My past experience involves working three years in a community pharmacy in Grove City. I have also worked the past three and a half years at CoverMyMeds downtown. CoverMyMeds assists pharmacies and providers with the prior authorization process and helps patients get the medications they need. I enjoy working with patients and helping them feel better.

In my free time, I like watching the Reds. I am also a big baseball fan. Due to that love of baseball, I volunteer at The Ohio Historical Society for their vintage ‘base ball’ team called the Ohio Village Muffins.   Whenever I get the chance, I enjoy a game of Frisbee golf, cooking out, and hanging out with friends.

Feel free to stop by Plain City Druggist and say hi. I look forward to talking with you!
