Party with OSU and Cincinnati Bengals Great, Pete Johnson, on Saturday, October 24 at the London Country Club at 6 pm.

Pete Johnson, former Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengals football star, and other OSU football friends will be watching the OSU vs. Rutgers game at a tailgate party on Saturday, October 24 at the London Country Club, 1199 Spring Valley Road in London at 6 pm. You can join them as they cheer on the OSU football team.

The cost to attend the tailgate party is $20 and includes food, beer, and soda. Pete will be cooking your favorite tailgate foods.

This tailgate party is a fundraiser to benefit the renovation of the Old London High School for work force development for young adults.

Come at 3 pm to play 9 holes of golf for $20 per person with a cart included. There will also be autograph signing and a face painter.

An autographed football featuring the signatures of OSU running back greats will also be raffled off at this event. Signatures include those of Archie Griffin, Pete Johnson, Keith Byars, Raymont Harris, Eddie George, and Robert Smith. You can purchase tickets for the raffle at Cappy’s Pizza, 247 Lafayette Street in London. The tickets are $5 each or 3 tickets for $10.

Free Electronic Waste and Appliance Recycling Day on Saturday, October 24 at Union Recyclers in Marysville.

Free Electronic Waste and Appliance Recycling Day

On Saturday, October 24, there will be a FREE electronic waste and appliance recycling day from 9 am to 1 pm (rain or shine) at Union Recyclers, 15140 US Route 36 East in Marysville.

Items that will be accepted from households, businesses, industries, schools, and the government include: Computers, any and all types of cable and wire, cameras, servers, VCRs, Monitors, DVD Players, all types of cell phones, keyboards and mice, CD and DVD media, battery backup systems, scanners, printers, fax machines, copiers, all stereo equipment, video games, video game systems, all phone equipment, speakers, floppy disks, microwaves, sweepers, and other household electronics.

Televisions will be accepted for a fee of $20 each. There is a $5 Fee for each CRT (cathode ray tubes found in most computer monitors) Monitor.

Freon and Non-Freon appliances including refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, stoves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers will be taken at NO CHARGE.

Aluminum beverage cans will be purchased for 5 cents over the price of the day!

Absolutely NO trash, tires, light bulbs, alkaline batteries or household hazardous waste will be accepted. NO Early Drop Offs!

The Plain City Historical Society’s 4th Annual Bean Supper is Saturday, October 24 from 11 am to 3 pm.

It is time once again for The Plain City Historical Society’s fall fundraiser: the fourth annual ham and bean supper.

Their delicious bean soup and cornbread will be on sale Saturday, October 24 at the Plain City Presbyterian Church, 231 East Main Street, Plain City from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Your $7.00 ticket will buy ALL YOU CAN EAT ham and bean soup, cornbread, iced tea or coffee, and a dessert. You’ll also get delicious Miller’s Olde Fashioned Ice Cream!!

Ghost Stories for Grown-ups at the Plain City Library on Monday, October 26 from 7-9:30 pm.

The Plain City Public Library will once again be hosting “Ghost Stories for Grown-Ups” on Monday, October 26 from 7 to 9:30 pm at the library on 305 West Main Street.

The Library will have light refreshments provided by the Friends of the Plain City Public Library and a mix of traditional and contemporary stories to be read aloud, accompanied by a slideshow of haunted places and fun trivia.
