Happy First Day Back to Books and Teachers and Loads of Learning!

50b0a1c5ebee49c6bfe772e19cef0bd6

We want to wish all the area Fairbanks and Jonathan Alder students, staff, and teachers a happy first day of school today, August 17!

We remember what that first day was like–the smell of new shoes, a clean school building, and fresh sheets of paper. Excitement over seeing friends you had not seen in several weeks and worries about the challenges of trigonometry, Shakespearean tragedies, and hundreds of other facts that needed shoved in a brain a bit sluggish from summer vacation.

Enjoy each day as if it were the first!

Have a super first day and a wonderful 2016-2017 school year.

Please Meet Our Student Pharmacist for August, Ben Coles.

imagejpeg_0 2

We are so lucky to have a student pharmacist again this month from The Ohio State University’s College of Pharmacy. Ben Coles is a fourth year student who will graduate in May 2017 and then go on to practice as a pharmacist. In this posting, we’d like to introduce you to Ben.

Here is what Ben has to say about himself:

Hello! My name is Ben Coles and I am a fourth year student at The Ohio State University’s College of Pharmacy. I grew up in Georgetown, Ohio (a small town in southern Ohio) until I was 15, at which time my family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. I finished high school in Utah and completed my undergraduate degree in exercise sciences at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah.

Before starting at BYU, I completed a two year, full-time, mission for my church in Samoa in the South Pacific. Upon returning from Samoa, I met my wife and, after dating for a while, we were married in 2011. We have two children, both boys–Davis who is 3 and Griffin who is 1.

In my free time, I like to spend time with my family at the great metro parks around Columbus and go on road trips to all the super places surrounding Columbus and Ohio. I am a religious reader of a theme park blog where I indulge my love for roller coasters and theme parks.

I have worked as a pharmacy intern for Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio for the past three years. Before starting pharmacy school, I worked for Rite Aid Pharmacy in Provo, Utah for three years, as well. After graduation, I plan on completing a two year residency in hospital pharmacy administration and hope to become a hospital pharmacy manager.

I am excited to spend the month of August at Plain City Druggist and get to know all the great patients!
