Adopt-a-Bookshelf Fundraising Campaign for The Plain City Public Library.

2017_10_06_12_06_30.pdf000

The Plain City Public Library is growing and they plan to do it one bookshelf at a time.

This is such a neat idea (but we’d expect nothing less from the creative minds at the Library).

In December 2017, the library will begin a complete interior renovation. At that time, community members may adopt a shelf in the library for a one time $50 donation. On a secret location at the bottom of each adopted shelf, the donor can place a special message–perhaps a dedication to someone who has died, a message to a loved one, a signature, drawing, traced hands, or any number of other unique notes or images.

Before the shelves are placed in the renovated library space, images will be taken of each shelf and given to the donor. In 2018, all donors will get the chance to preview the library renovations and find their adopted shelf and message before the project opens to the public.

The renovation of the library will include new technology, as well as new multipurpose spaces and an updated, imaginative children’s reading area. The children’s reading area will include “hints of a tree canopy and soft clover underfoot”–a secret garden hidden inside the library. Oh, how awesome!

Joe and I will definitely be adopting a bookshelf or two!

If you would like to adopt a bookshelf, complete the online donor application HERE.

You can also print the adoption application by going HERE and submit it with your $50 donation to: The Plain City Public Library, 305 West Main Street, Plain City, OH 43064.

If you would like to drop off your application and dedication in person, please contact Chris Long at 614-873-4912, ext. 123 or email: clong@plaincitylib.org to allow the staff to know when you plan to stop by so they can have an adopted shelf ready for you.
