Benefit Concert by Chase Potter and Friends on August 12 to Benefit the Free Clinic in Madison County.

On Sunday, August 12, at 7 pm in St. Patrick’s Church in London, Chase Potter and Friends will hold a benefit concert for the Free Clinic of Madison County. Last year’s concert raised almost $4,000 for the Free Clinic.

This year’s concert will feature Chase Potter performing on violin, saxophone, guitar, mandolin, bass, and drums, with a variety of musicians in a variety of genres. There will be a special emphasis on Jazz and Gospel this year with some fiddle tunes and Texas swing thrown in, as well. There will also be songs from the Great American Songbook. The concert will be dedicated to the memory of Clint Morse, who passed away this past November. Clint’s son, Matt Morse, a former bass player for Ray Charles, as well as a Nashville studio player, arranger, and producer will be joining the concert. Other performers include one of Chase’s mentors, Jay Miglia, a saxophonist, composer, and arranger, who currently teaches at Capital University and Otterbein as a Jazz Studies Coordinator.

Also performing will be Mark and Tracy Potter, Joe Blaho, Dan Hitchcock, Ernie Sparks, Harold McNeal, Jordan Penix, Clayton Burke, and Chris Bechtol. This should be a very entertaining evening of music to help raise funds and awareness about the services provided by the Free Clinic. So far in 2012, the Free Clinic has provided 1,091 free doctor’s office visits and 1,343 free medications to patients.

No reservations are required for the concert and there is no admission cost. Funds will be raised solely by a free will offering with 100% of the donations going to the Free Clinic. The concert should end around 8:20 pm. Following the concert, refreshments will be provided by St. Patrick’s Church, located at 61 South Union Street in London.
