The 25th Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) is June 15-22.

The 25th Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) will take place this year from Saturday, June 15 through Saturday, June 22. This is the 25th anniversary of GOBA and they have a lot of extra activities planned for this ride.

The daily 50-mile-long event (bikers ride approximately 50 miles each day of the route) will lead bikers from Sidney and Troy to Urbana. The biking adventure will start in Urbana on the 15th and wind through Troy on Sunday and Monday, Greenville on Tuesday, New Bremen on Wednesday and Thursday, and Sidney on Friday before ending back in Urbana on Saturday the 22nd.

This week-long trip gives cyclists the opportunity to see many lovely Ohio communities, as the route changes every year.

Joe and I love to ride our bikes and Joe said this is something he would like to do some day. I don’t think I am quite ready to ride 50 miles a day for 7 days! But maybe some day in the future!

The 2012 Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) is June 16-23.

The 24th Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) will take place this year from Saturday, June 16 through Saturday, June 23. Last year the daily 50-mile-long event (bikers ride approximately 50 miles each day of the route) led bikers through Plain City. This year, however, the route is slightly south of us passing through Washington Courthouse, Wilmington, Hillsboro, Chillicothe, and Ashville. The biking adventure will start in Hillsboro on the 16th and wind through Chillicothe on Sunday and Monday, Ashville on Tuesday, Washington Courthouse on Wednesday and Thursday, and Wilmington on Friday before ending back in Hillsboro on Saturday the 23rd.

Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) Passing through Plain City on Wednesday, June 22.

The 23rd Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) will take place from Saturday, June 18 through Saturday, June 25 and will pass through Plain City for lunch on Wednesday, June 22. The 50-mile-long event will start in Kenton on the 18th and wind through Marion, Delaware, London, and Bellefontaine before ending back in Kenton on the 25th.

This week-long trip gives cyclists the opportunity to see many lovely Ohio communities. The route changes every year and this year just happens to run through Plain City.

The Humane Society of Madison County (HSMC) will be helping supply food to the bicyclists from Wednesday through Friday morning when the group leaves London headed toward Bellefontaine. To feed a large number of hungry riders, the shelter will need lots of volunteers to help serve. They could also use monetary contributions to offset the costs of the food they purchased. This event has the potential to raise several thousand dollars to help area homeless animals. If you would like to volunteer or donate, please call Donna Smith at 614-203-6493 or email her at dluc59@hotmail.com. You can mail donations to: HSMC, P. O. Box 777, London, Ohio 43140.
