It is time once again to help spruce up Plain City and Union County after the ravages of snow, rain, and overgrown weeds have left their mark on the streets and sidewalks. UPCO (Uptown Plain City Organization) is partnering with the United Way of Union County for Community Care Day 2013 on Tuesday, May 21, to not only clean up Plain City, but to also allow volunteers to help with other activities benefitting seniors, libraries, parks, and other community landmarks.

On Community Care Day, volunteers will meet at St. John’s Lutheran School (12809 State Route 736 in Marysville) from 7:45 to 8:30 am to get checked in. Breakfast will be provided and volunteers will receive a “Live United” t-shirt to wear. From 8:30 am to 5 pm, volunteers will move out through Union County to work on projects. Lunch will be served at Buffalo Wild Wings between noon and 1 pm.

On Saturday, November 10, St. John’s Lutheran Church and School will be holding their Annual Christmas Bazaar from 9 am to 3 pm inside the school gym at 12809 State Route 736 in Marysville. Over fifty vendors will provide handmade arts and crafts, along with home-baked food items, and a children’s gift shop. Lunch will be available to purchase and there will be a children’s area to keep the kids entertained while you shop.

On Friday, November 4, from 10 am-7 pm and Saturday, November 5, from 10 am-5 pm, Mainstreet Treasures will be hosting a Holiday Open House to get everyone in the mood for the season. To reward you for stopping in, Mainstreet Treasures will give you $10 off your purchase for every $50 spent. There will be prizes, snacks, and lots of new inventory, including holiday ornaments, decor, cards, and Alder apparel designs.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 12809 State Route 736 just outside of Marysville, is holding their Annual Christmas Bazaar this Saturday, November 13, from 9 am to 3 pm. The Bazaar will be held in the gym and will feature over 75 craft tables and a bake sale (please note that the 8th grade class made homemade Buckeyes, which they will be selling–Yum, yum!).

There will be a children’s area with activities from 9 am to noon. Among the featured activities will be face painting, a cake walk, as well as a Secret Santa with free gift wrapping.

Lunch will also be served during the entire time the Bazaar is open. There will be hot sandwiches with delicious homemade soups and desserts. Carry-out is available.

Stop by and support St. John’s and get an early start on your Christmas shopping. Christmas is only a little over a month away!
