White Feather Garden Events, located at 179 East Main Street in Plain City, offers unique settings for both indoor and outdoor gatherings.

The 10,000 square foot outdoor venue can accommodate up to 200 guests (150 if a tent and seating are set up) and is perfect for a graduation party, wedding reception, or any family function. You can lease the space for a flat fee of $500 Friday through Sunday or $300 Monday through Thursday. Tents, tables, chairs, linens, a dance floor, port-a-johns, and silverware can all be rented for your event, as well. In addition, lovely floral arrangements can be prepared by the gifted artists at White Feather.

White Feather also offers their preferred vendors who they can recommend to help you make your event extraordinary. Vendors include: caterers, bakers, musicians, lighting specialists, and photographers.

Additionally, White Feather can host smaller, private dinner parties in the indoor area that hosts their Gallery-Boutique. For this smaller space, the venue is limited to only 30 guests.

The patio is also available for 30-40 guests at a weekday fee of $75.

Within the Gallery-Boutique, White Feather offers unique items from one-of-a-kind artists, many of them local. The White Feather Gallery-Boutique also offers a personal space for classes and workshops.

Coming up in the Gallery-Boutique will be a number of interesting events.

On Saturday, April 11, attend a “pounded flower workshop” with Ann Williams. The cost is $30 and all supplies will be provided. You’ll leave with one pounded flower greeting card and one 8×10 pounded flower framable piece of art.

On Saturday, April 18, attend a hat trunk show from 12-4 pm. Drop by any time during the four hour event and have milliner Bridget Early assist you in choosing the right size and type of hat for your head and face. Get a hat just in time for the Kentucky Derby!

On Saturday, April 25, take part in a Jewelry Class. There will be a class offered from noon to 2 pm making charm bracelets and a second class from 2 to 4 pm making medallion bracelets. The price for each class is $45 and supplies will be provided by instructors Kathleen Gallant and Stephanie Kallenberger of Partners in Charm.

White Feather Gallery-Boutique is a new business located at 179 East Main Street in Plain City. Combining a boutique and an art gallery with a venue for events, White Feather was started by our mayor, Sandy Adkins, and her good friend, Melynnda.

White Feather will be holding their Grand Opening on Saturday, August 30 with an Art Fair from 11 am-4 pm.

The day actually gets started at 8 am with a bake sale and specialty coffee on the patio (Hot Spot Coffee Café mobile bus and local baker goodies).

From 11 am to 2 pm, there will be a street food truck ready to serve a great meal.

From 11 am to 4 pm, there will be artists’ booths on the lawn along with live music and artist demonstrations. Some of the demonstrations by gallery artists will include: 11 am Indigo dying, 12 pm cement casting, 1 pm loom work, 2 pm jewelry design, and at 3 pm glass lamp work! Stop by and learn something new and interesting!

From 2 pm to 4 pm, Miller’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream truck will be scooping out sweet treats.

The shop features original pieces by Ohio artists, as well as local Plain City artisans who produce gorgeous jewelry, handmade hats, scarves, purses made from recycled materials, and beautiful photographs and artwork. Melynnda also creates lovely centerpieces and floral arrangements, which she tags with a single white feather.

I stopped in the shop just before Mother’s Day and bought Mom a pair of earrings and a lovely wreath that Melynnda had made. The shop is full of light and decorated so that each piece catches your eye and pulls you in for a closer look.
