Plain City Big Band Dance Will Get Your Feet Tapping This Friday, May 3.
The Plain City Big Band Dance is this Friday, May 3, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church’s Activity Center, 670 West Main Street in Plain City (behind the fire station). The live dance band, Classic Swing, will be playing dance favorites from 7-10 pm.
Whether you can “cut a rug” or not, the Plain City Big Band Dance is a lot of fun. You can sit on the sidelines and watch the dancers or join in and strut your stuff. But please boogie in and support your local (and lovely) library.
Admission to the Big Band Dance is a $5 donation to the Friends of the Plain City Public Library. Beverages and light refreshments will be available to purchase. Wine will also be available from local winery, Eldchrist Winery.
Additionally, throughout the evening, a slide show will be running of photos of Plain City in the 1940’s and 50’s. A picture honor roll of local veterans will also be featured.
You can purchase tickets in advance at the Plain City Public Library, 305 West Main Street. The library is open today, Thursday, until 9 pm.

Have a Fun Ladies’ Night at Eldchrist Winery on Thursday, May 10.
Our good friend (who is also an adopter, volunteer, and fundraiser for Black and Orange Cat Foundation), Olivia Brininger, will be at Eldchrist Winery in Plain City on Thursday, May 10, for Ladies Night featuring Lia Sophia jewelry. In the past, Olivia has done several Lia Sophia fundraisers to help the B and O kitties, so we would like to send everyone out to this event to support her.
This should be a fun evening to bring your girlfriends, sisters, and female relatives to. There will also be products available from Scentsy and Sweet Mamas Cake Pops. Sweet Mamas Cake Pops are made by two local, sweet mamas, Tracy and Kirsten.
Local author Sherri Hayes will also be there to sign and sell her romance and suspense novels. I first told you about Sherri’s book, Hidden Threat, in a blog posting last April. Since then, Sherri has published two new books, Behind Closed Doors and Slave. Her latest book, Need, a sequel to Slave, will be available in July. You can read the original blog posting about Hidden Threat HERE.
The winery event runs from 6-9 pm. Please come and have a good time, while supporting our friend, Olivia!
Ladies Night at Eldchrist Winery Features Lia Sophia Jewelry and Our Friend, Olivia Brininger!
Eldchrist Winery (8189 State Route 736) will have their weekly Ladies night on Thursday, January 12, from 6-9 pm. This Ladies night will feature Lia Sophia jewelry and our good friend from cat rescue, Olivia Brininger. Olivia has donated to Black and Orange Cat Foundation before with special Lia Sophia events just for the kitties.
I want to encourage everyone to go out and support Olivia just like she has always supported Black and Orange–with not only donations, but by adopting kitties from the group, as well!! You won’t find prettier jewelry at more affordable prices anywhere.
Besides the Lia Sophia jewelry, a consultant from The Pampered Chef will also be at the Winery.
Olivia promises lots of great deals, including a drawing for FREE jewelry. For the month of January, she is also offering a “Reverse Customer Save Plan”—buy one item at regular price and then choose two more expensive items to receive at half off! Additionally, there will be pieces that are retiring at the end of January which you can buy at fabulous prices.
Please join Olivia and Eldchrist Winery for a night of wine, jewelry, and tons of fun!
Join Black and Orange Cat Foundation for the Second Annual Fall CAT-illion at Eldchrist Winery on Saturday, November 12, from 6-10 pm.
Eldchrist Winery, located at 8189 State Route 736 in Plain City, has kindly agreed to host the second Fall CAT-illion to benefit Black and Orange Cat Foundation on Saturday, November 12, from 6-10 pm (the OSU football game is AWAY that day, so no reason to hold back). Tickets for the CAT-illion are now available.
Tickets are $40 per person or $75 for a couple. Included in the ticket price are unlimited wine by the glass, soft drinks, coffee, and tea, as well as hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by classical guitarist Tip House.
B and Mittens are the kitties that are featured on the label of Kitten’s Kiss Wine. These two went through a Black and Orange clinic to get neutered and vaccinated. Thus, to thank Black and Orange, the Winery has graciously offered to conduct this classy fundraiser once again.
Besides everything that Eldchrist Winery has planned, Black and Orange also plans to have Christmas gift items and baskets for sale during the event.
A former adopter and good friend to B and O, Olivia Brininger, will be selling Lia Sophia jewelry with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Black and Orange.
We plan to have a lot of fun, so if you want to come, get your tickets now. The Winery can only hold 50 people per fire code, so Eldchrist will be selling around 50 tickets for the evening. If you would like tickets, you can purchase them by credit card by calling the Winery at (614) 874-6240. You can also stop in while they are open on Fridays from 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturdays from 2 pm to 8 pm.
Additionally, we have tickets for sale here at the drugstore. Just ask Joe or me for more information or to purchase a ticket. Eldchrist Winery will also have some tickets available to purchase at the door the night of the event.
Ladies’ Night at Eldchrist Winery, April 28, will Feature Local Author Sherri Hayes.
Mainstreet Treasures will be at Eldchrist Winery on Thursday, April 28, from 6-9 pm for Ladies’ Night.
Local author and Plain City grad, Sherri Hayes, will be attending the event and will have her book, Hidden Threat, available to purchase. She will also be signing copies of the romantic thriller.
To read a review of Hidden Threat, go HERE.
Besides this chance to chat with Ms. Hayes and take home a copy of her book, there will also be tons of other fun things in the works from Mainstreet Treasures, including bead specials, prizes, and voting for the People’s Choice Award in the 2nd Annual Postcard Contest.
If you are not in the mood to attend the Plain City Lions Club Auction and Dinner at Der Dutchman, Ladies’ Night may be the fun alternative you are looking for on a boring Thursday evening.
And return to Eldchrist on Friday, April 29, for live music with 2nd Story Acoustic from 6 to 9 pm. For only a $5 cover charge, you can listen to some super music.
